New Configuration Updates

Where did my Course Configuration go? More Configuration items have be relocated to the Admin Username menu as part of our ongoing effort to streamline ampEducator.  We have also created a new menu for Administrators under the Username menu called 'Institution Config' and will continue to move the Configuration items over to this section from the original Home > Configuration section. Course Configuration can now be found here for example and is no longer available under Home > Configuration. Any questions please email support@ampeducator.com to start a ticket.
Example: (Admin Users Only) Username > Institution Config menu section.

Support Tips: Academic Sessions

Admin Users:
  • Setting the Default Academic Session
  • Completing Academic Sessions
  • Transcript Configuration: Show Session Summary
Student Advisors & Registrars:
  • Setting the Current Session (Default) for Student

Setting the Default Academic Session

If you want to set a global default Academic Session in ampEducator to always filter on that Academic Session then an Admin User can go to Institution Account > Academic Sessions and edit any Academic Session in the list and make it the Default. To do this you must locate an Active Academic Session and to the right you will see a check mark icon. Click this to make the Academic Session the Default. It will be indicated by the green YES in the Default Column of the Academic Sessions List.

Completing Academic Sessions

If you have a long list of Academic Sessions then an Admin User can mark them as Completed as any Completed Academic Session will no longer show up in any Academic Session Filter.

Transcript Configuration: Show Session Summary = Yes
There are many areas that Academic Session applies to the software and these have been updated already to reflect the change in name but if you are missing the previous 'Term Summary' it's possible this was disabled on your Transcripts and you may need to enable this option. Please refer to Institution Account > Transcripts > Summary Section and Show Session Summary Summary = Yes.

Setting the Current Session (Default) for Students
There is now a new tab called 'Sessions' in the Student Profile. This is a summary of all the Sessions the Student has taken. It shows the Session, number of credits attempted, number completed. averages, attendance etc. You can add a new Academic Session here and also set the default by making any Session 'Current'. To do this you will see a check mark icon to the far right of each Session. Click this to make the Academic Session the Current. It will be indicated by the green YES in the Current Session Column of the Academic Sessions List for the Student.

Academic Years changed to Academic Sessions

  • Available Now
  • Academic Year / Terms now "Academic Sessions"
What's this change all about?
In case you missed it please review the previous blog post on this change topic: http://blog.ampeducator.com/2017/01/academic-year-proposed-changes.html

What was added?
Under Students List there is now an "Academic Sessions" Filter and a Column called "Session". This is the current Session for the Student and can be Filtered.

There is now an "Add Session" under More Actions which lets you bulk Add Sessions to Selected Students in the Student List.

There is also now a new tab called "Sessions". This is a summary of all the Sessions the Student has taken. It shows the session, number of credits attempted, number completed. averages, attendance etc. You can add a new Academic Session here and also set the default. This replaces the "Reg (Registration)" tab in the Student Profile.

Where do I manage Academic Sessions?
To manage Academic Sessions (formerly Academic Years) Admin users can access under Institution Account > Academic Sessions.

There are some other minor wording / filter changes to switch everything to Academic Sessions that you will observe and some existing custom reports may be effected. Our support team is working to update all reports to support this change.

If you have any questions or notice any errors please report them to support@ampeducator.com to start a ticket.
